Turbinicarpus laui


Synonyms- Neolloydia laui, Pediocactus laui, Strombocactus laui.


Description-

   Body- Solitary, flattened globular, 5-15mm high 12-35mm wide yellowish-green.

   Root- Taproot.

   Tubercles- Broad conical to 3-5mm long.

   Spines- Radials- 6-8 brownish-white radiating more or less straight 12-22mm long.

               Centrals- None.

   Flowers- White with brownish midribs 18-25mm long, 31-35mm wide.

   Fruits- Greenish to brown 5-7mm long and 5mm wide.


Distribution- South of Villa Juarez in the state of San Lois Potosi (Mexico). Altitude 1100-1500m.


Notes-

This species is fairly robust but subject to rot. Requires full sun and careful watering to keep plant compact.
